Baptism

You can be assured you’ve received eternal life if you repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior (John 17:3; Romans 10:9; Luke 23:43). Jesus calls us to follow him. Jesus, God’s one and only Son, was baptized by John (Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22), and he told his disciples to go and make other disciples and baptize them (Matthew 28:19-20). It is in our baptism we die with Christ (Romans 6:4) and are clothed in Christ (Galatians 3:27). Followers of Jesus must be born of the Spirit!

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

John 3:5 (English Standard Version)

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38 (New International Version)

How to be Baptized:

  1. Gather with another follower, or many followers, of Christ.
  2. Find water. (Acts 8:36)
  3. Proclaim His name!
  4. Rinse. (No need to repeat.)
  5. Follow as the Spirit leads!

Soli Deo gloria!

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Jesus
