Creation

In the beginning, the Book of Genesis says God created the heavens and the earth. What order did God create the things that live in those spaces?

Bonus Questions
When the earth was formless, what was the Spirit of God hovering over? (Genesis 1:2)
Where does Genesis say God planted a garden? (Genesis 2:8)

Main Thought
The creation narrative in Genesis is clear that God is the creator of all things. He creates all things on a cosmic level in Genesis 1 and in Genesis 2 the story’s setting is a specific place on earth, in the east, in Eden. A story of the order of creation on a cosmic level and a story of God being creative in one particular special place would mean we don’t have to try to make the narratives fit into each other and in doing so the Bible would still be true.
